Eight Ways To Boost Your Energy

1. Lead the active life

Energy begets energy. The worst thing you can do is to give into boredom and malaise. Instead, get up and do something you really want to do even if you think you're too tired to do it. Love is energy, creative is energy, health is energy. The more good things you do for yourself the more energetic you become. The very act of doing can help you shake the ennui that made you tired in the first place.

2. Take a mini break

Get up and remind your body it's awake. Do a few tension-relieving exercises-shrug your shoulders, roll your head, or go for a walk.

3. Know yourself

Schedule though jobs for when you are at your energy peak. I'm most alert early in the morning so I try to complete my least favorite tasks during that time. I know that I'll struggle to get it done in the afternoon. Listen to the ticking of your own inner clock.

4. Loose weight

Imagine if you were carrying two bowling bowls around all day long. Physically caring 30-40 extra pounds is going to make you more fatigued, this is common knowledge. But what many people don't take into consideration is that obesity loads you with a weight of a different kind. It can wear you out psychologically too. This affects your perception of yourself, making you self-conscious, which is energy draining.

5. Meditate

Sitting quietly in a relaxed position with your eyes shut, repeating a simple word over and over again while shutting off distracting thoughts can reduce the body's response to stress. Through this state of restful alertness you achieve the optimum state of functioning. Meditation can help you be perfectly relaxed and invigorated at the same time.

6. Grab a handful of nuts

After strenuous exercise you may get "mineral blues"- a deficiency of potassium and magnesium in muscle cells. Both minerals can be lost through sweat. When stores drop below normal, even a mild deficiency can bring on fatigue. Both potassium and magnesium are abundant in nuts and soybeans. You'll also find potassium plentiful in fruits and vegetables and magnesium in grains.

7. Eat a light lunch

Eating a heavy meal can make you the victim of a postprandial dip-characterized by a drop in body temperature, blood sugar, work efficiency and mood. In many countries lunch is followed by a siesta. If you can't take a nap then eat a light meal like a salad

8. Make up beat friends

Unhappy, unpleasant people are drainers who sap your energy. You can't avoid them entirely but you should make them the minority in your circle of friends. Fill your life with energetic upbeat people.
